Serve the World

We want to help members embrace a biblical worldview…one that broadens our sights beyond ourselves, our community and even our nation and sees the needs of “all nations.” We obey Christ’s call to a global vision by sending teams on short-term mission trips, where they can use their passions, gifts and resources to share Jesus, the Light of the World, with those in spiritually dark places.

SANTIAGO, PANAMA

First Church partners with United Methodist missionaries Rev. David and Cindy Ceballos to share the love of Jesus Christ through medical missions in remote regions of Panama. These medical missions offer care and support to the most needy in the country, including indigenous tribes located in the most remote regions. Volunteers include medical professionals, medical support volunteers, recreation leaders, Vacation Bible School leaders, and more.

Mission Panama 2024 is scheduled for June 8-15.

In 2019 we took our largest team ever - 21 team members. We traveled over 2,735 miles and visited two extremely remote locations, El Cuay and El Guabal, one of which had never even seen a mission team before. Our providers saw 462 patients, wrote 1,801 prescriptions and gave 19 referrals to patients who needed additional care. The team accomplished so much in the week we were there, but there is so much left to do. We return, full of stories to share, love for these beautiful Panamanians, love for our labor of compassion in Christ’s name, and the love for the great commission our Lord gives to us all, to go to the ends of the world for his sake.
