Christmas Angel Tree 2022
LOOKING FOR CHRISTMAS ANGELS!
This year, for the first time ever, we will be partnering with the children that are part of the Texas Baptist Children’s Home (TBCH). The program at Texas Baptist Children’s Home supports children ranging from babies through young adults. We can make it a better Christmas for all residents by purchasing gifts from the Christmas Gift Ideas Lists provided to us. This is a great outreach opportunity for individual families as well as Sunday School, LifeGroups, Bible Study, service and fellowship groups.
The program at TBCH is run differently than the Williamson County Child Welfare Angel Tree program that we have partnered with in past years. The items purchased will not go to a predetermined child. The staff at the TBCH have polled the children in their care and have compiled wish lists based on the items most asked for. All the gifts donated will be set out at the TBCH by age range and gender, then the parent can shop for their child(ren) and wrap the gifts.
The age ranges for gifts will be 0-4 years old, 5-10 years old, 11-17 years old, and young adults. There is also the option of purchasing for a girl or a boy. Each sponsor can select how many gifts they want to purchase for an age range and gender they have chosen. The only guideline is that each individual gift item should be limited to a value of no more than $35. A sponsor may also choose to buy gifts for any combination of age and gender, but the value of each individual item can be no more than $35. There will be volunteers to guide you in the selection process located in the Sanctuary and the Family Life Center foyers.
Purchased gifts can be turned in at the mission trailer in the church parking lot on 11/20, 11/27, or 12/4 from 9:20-11:20AM (after the 8:30AM service, before and after the 9:40AM service, and before the 11AM service). Please be sure to return gifts in bags by age range and gender. You will be provided with large labels to identify the age range and gender that the items you purchased are intended for. You are also welcome to include gift wrap, bows, and tape for the presents to be wrapped in.
We look forward to embarking on this new relationship with the residents at the Texas Baptist Children’s Home. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact me at 512-466-1966 or e-mail me at Kerstin@fumc-rr.org.
You can make the holidays a little brighter for some of the children in our community.
If you would like to be a Christmas Angel and shop for a child please stop by the Angel Tree located in the foyer of the sanctuary OR in the Family Life Center foyer on Sunday, November 6th.
