Marriage Course: Communication and Community is a four-week course hosted by Pat and Monica McCain designed to help young married couples and couples with children learn to communicate and work through conflict. Another important goal for this class to provide an opportunity for couples to build meaningful connections with other couples. Strong communication and circles of support are two vital needs for marriages to flourish.
This all-new experience with a fresh, interactive format. Each week we will interview a relationship expert who will share their insights about how to strengthen our marriage, grow together, deepen our intimacy, and build community with other couples. There will be open and honest discussions, and we will share lots of practical tools.
Each couple will also receive a copy of Rebekah and Gabe Lyons book, The Fight for Us: Overcome What Divides to Build a Marriage That Thrives.
The course meets Sundays, September 28–October 19, from 5:00–7:00 PM in the Family Life Center. Registration is only $30 per couple and includes a delicious dinner, a helpful course book, and complimentary childcare to make your evening stress-free.

Meet our Speakers
Heather Moeller
Heather Moeller is a Licensed Professional Counselor at Mindful Health in Georgetown, Texas. She is a seasoned mental health therapist with over 20-years of experience and provides therapeutic services to all ages.
Heather earned her MA in Psychology at Texas A&M and specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy
Dr. Vanessa Jackson
Vanessa is an author and Licensed Professional Counselor at The Timothy Center and Clinical Director at Adjuvant Behavior Health. Her personal experience, professional experience, and training make her a great fit for anyone tackling value, purpose, and legacy. She holds a Doctor of Education degree in Community Care and Counseling from Liberty University.
Vanessa is a therapeutic missionary with Ananias House in the Middle East and North Africa. Vanessa is happily to married to Jimmy Dean Jackson.
Van Putman
Van is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Round Rock, Texas. He is happily married to his best friend, Meredith, and they have two beautiful young daughters.
He has Bachelor of Business Administration-Finance degree from Southern Methodist University, and spent four years as a Financial Advisor prior to entering the counseling profession. He earned his Master’s in Professional Counseling, and serves at Riverstone Counseling Center in Round Rock.
Van enjoys working with couples and works with clients experiencing spiritual struggles and faith development concerns, work-related struggles, grief and loss, shame and guilt, anxiety, depression, anger management, perfectionism, and sexual addiction and recovery.
Anna Grace Coates
Anna Grace is a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at the University of Texas, Austin. She is researching sexual wellbeing in religious and forensic settings. She holds a Master of Science in forensic psychology from the University of Kent in Canterbury, England. Anna Grace is married to the love of her life, Logan Coates, and they live with two cats, Alia and Pig. In her spare time, she can be found learning Bevo facts or running.
