Game Day: September 22

All are invited to join in an afternoon of fun and games at FUMC-RR! We normally meet on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 1 pm in room 127, Feel free to bring your own drink (if you would like one) and games to share. Some games will be provided but it is always exciting to learn how to play new games! We just want to have some fun!

Women’s Fellowship and Missions

Are you looking to be part of a sisterhood that meets monthly? Women's Fellowship and Missions (WFM) works to identify needs in our community. WFM is a women’s group of the church banding together for spiritual fellowship and common service in missions. Registration is currently open for Glamp and Glam Fundraiser and Style Show that is coming up on November 7th at 10 am.

This group meets on the third Tuesday of the month, The upcoming meeting is October 20th. The morning group meets at 9:30 am and the evening group meets at 6:30 pm. Both groups meet in Building 5, room 127. Our kick-off meeting for Fall of 2026 is Tuesday, August 18th. Interested in learning more? Email wfm@fumc-rr.org

Wednesday morning Women’s Bible Study

Grace and Glory, led by Janet Reynolds and Patti Maund, meets at 9:30 on Wednesdays in room 232. They are starting back on September 9th. They will be studying From Beginning to Forever, A Study of the Grand Narrative of Scripture by Elizabeth Woodson. Email for more information.

Wednesday Evening Women’s Bible Study

The Praise and Prayer Sisters, meet at 6:30 pm in Room 127. Now and Not Yet by Ruth Chou Simons will start September 2nd and end on October 7th.

 Live Free by Elizabeth Woodson will start October 14th and end on December 9th.

Joy of Bible Art Journaling

The Joy of Bible Art Journaling is a class to engage with scripture by creating and documenting your reflections with art in your Bible. They will continue to meet throughout the summer! Come give it a try!

Thursdays at 10-11:30 am in Bldg 5, room 122, moving to 126 on September 10th.

Heart to Heart Quilting Ministry

Join us in this amazing ministry!

In 2026, this Quilting Ministry is growing rapidly! They are considering opening a third time opportunity for women to participate! You do not need to know how to quilt. They will teach you and/or they do have some administrative tasks that are important (like sorting fabric and picking up donations of fabric!) If you already have basic sewing or quilting skills, they can help you get started making children’s quilts. You do not need to bring any supplies to your first meeting. We will supply what you need to get started. Come and join us…morning or evening! If you would like more information contact Angie at quilters@fumc-rr.org. Quilters strive to follow the example of the Lord Jesus Christ to comfort the afflicted by providing quilts to children ages 17 years and younger with catastrophic illnesses or in difficult social situations. They pray as they stitch love into every quilt. Join the quilters on Thursdays at 9:30 am or 5:30 pm at 115 Winsted House on our campus. A new group of Quilters has formed and they meet Wednesdays at 1:30.

In 2025, 682 quilts were delivered to both local Dell Children's Hospitals and Texas Children's Hospital - Williamson County. Quilts were also provided to children in crisis at the Williamson County Children's Advocacy Center, Families in Transition & Foster Care, Rainbow Room, and Wonders & Worries. A special highlight from 2025 was Santa helping to deliver 50 Baby’s First Christmas quilts to children in the hospitals this past December. Quilters created 68 quilts in January alone and we would love for you to come check us out! Email quilters@fumc-rr.org.

fUMC CRAFTERS ministry

The Crafters will have their FALL sale on Sunday, November 1st! There are always amazing finds and gifts for the upcoming holiday season!

The Crafters had a VERY successful craft sale on Sunday, May 3rd and they would like to thank the congregation for the support! They raised over $2500 for the beneficiaries of their Spring Sale, Table of Grace and Texas Baptist Children’s Home.

Crafters use their crafting talents to create items for the spring and fall craft sales to monetarily support First Church and community organizations through mission projects. They meet on Tuesdays (except the 3rd Tuesday) from 9:30 am - 12 noon, at 115 Winsted House on our campus. For more information email crafters@fumc-rr.org.

Good News Sunday School Class

The Good News class is studying The Call by Adam Hamilton, studying the life and impact of Paul. We watched the video that goes with chapter 1, and will plan to discuss the first part of the chapter through the break on page 30 next week. Contemplate what you know about Paul, how you would describe him and his teachings, etc.

The Journey in Faith Sunday School class meets each week in room 127. It is made up of adults and seniors but new members are always welcome. Journey in Faith is currently doing a study entitled, This study is titled "That the World May Know" and uses the format of short video clips in various parts of the Holy Land followed by explanation of the cultural and religious significance of that area and what happened there either at the time of Jesus or before or after. They are currently studying "God Heard Their Cry." It focuses on what life was like for the Hebrews while they were in bondage in Egypt and what God had to do to get them out of Egypt and to also get "Egypt" out of the Hebrews. On September 20th, we will be talking about floods and other severe weather conditions they experienced during their Wandering in the Wilderness period.

Paths to Positive Living Sunday SChool Class

 We’re back in Room 145!

Our  study continues on September 20, 2026.  It is The Holy Spirit by Adam Hamilton. In The Holy Spirit, Adam  Hamilton explores what Scripture teaches about God's    Spirit―from the Hebrew Bible through Jesus' promises in the Gospels, the powerful Pentecost experience in Acts, and the rich teachings found in the New Testament letters.

Our next study will be Questions Jesus Asked by Magrey deVega.  Jesus was fond of asking questions, many of which cut right to the heart, about what it means to be human. Why are you terrified? What do you live for? Who do you     say that I am? In Questions Jesus Asked, author Magrey deVega explores six of the most provocative questions Jesus asked.

We will begin the next study on October 11th, so you have plenty time to purchase your book.

A group of adults in their 50’s through 70’s that meets in person for leader-led Bible study and discussion. Treaty Oak meets in person in Building 5-234. All are welcome to come give us a try!

On the third Saturday evening of each month, there is a gathering at FUMC-RR to play bridge. If you would like to join us, reach out to Joyce Patschke.

UMM Wednesday Morning Breakfast

The UMM are producing some good home cookin'! We would like to invite those men interested in the Christian fellowship, service opportunities, and spiritual growth UMM offers to come join us. Each week the kitchen crew prepares a full breakfast with bacon/sausage, biscuits and homemade gravy, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit and hot coffee. Come see and be part of what the men are doing for our church and its mission! We meet every Wednesday in the Family Life Center at 6:15 am with breakfast at 6:30 am. Not an early riser? There is also a group of United Methodist Men that meet for breakfast on Tuesdays at 8:00 at Juarez Bakery in Round Rock.

The Belles Fellowship Group

The Belles is a fellowship group for widows and caregivers, both members and non-menembers of FUMC-RR, who get together the first Monday of each month for lunch and visiting. Their next meeting is October 5th. Email Janet Reynolds for more information about the destination.
