High School and Middle School Mission Trips
Kairos Prison Ministry
Prison Ministry at First Church takes two forms. The first is service through a spiritual retreat weekend for prisoners called Kairos. This is part of the Emmaus Ministry family. Interested persons can participate by signing up to serve on a team or by providing support such as baking cookies or making placemats. The second is New Life in Christ, a correspondence program with inmates in local prisons. Contact Cheryl Glasgow.

Military First Responder Network
First Church’s Military First Responder Network is a group of people who are interested in supporting our military and first responders (police, fire, and EMS) and their families. This support takes many forms, from networking with our regional military bases to support active and veteran military to projects as simple as Cookies for the Troops, which sent home-baked cookies to our service men and women overseas in the middle east. We are always looking for ways to support our unsung heroes! Contact Doyle Young.
Small Group Missional Initiatives
Small groups which meet at First Church regularly serve in the mission field. From volunteering at the Round Rock Area Serving Center to supporting local women’s shelters, from taking part in Great Day of Service to supporting animal shelters, the missions supported by First Church’s small groups are widely varied. For more information on First Church small groups, click here.
UMCOR and Disaster Response
UMCOR – United Methodist Committee on Relief – is a United Methodist Church ministry whose goal is to assist the most vulnerable people affected by crisis without regard to their race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. Reaching people in more than 80 countries, including the United States, they provide humanitarian relief when war, conflict, or natural disaster disrupt life to such an extent that communities are unable to recover on their own. Get more information on UMCOR’s website.
First Church Disaster Response
First United Methodist Church – Round Rock responds to emergencies and disasters with a team of UMCOR trained individuals. Contact Dave Scott (firstname.lastname@example.org) to get trained and for more information. Click here for more information about Disaster Response.
United Methodist Apportionments
United Methodists support the ministries of the church through apportioned funds, which combines resources from many churches so that we can accomplish what no single church, district or annual conference ever could hope to do alone. Get more information on apportionments here.
drops of grace®*—Malawi and Nicaragua
Safe fresh drinking water is not readily accessible in Nicaragua, in fact, in some areas 80% of the people live without safe drinking water. drops of grace® drills wells in communities as part of a holistic approach to community development. In Malawi, as the poorest country in the world, Malawians face disease, drought, poverty, and lack of critical resources every day. drops of grace® provides support in education and teaching income-generating trades.
