This Sunday is one of my favorite ones of the year. It’s the day we celebrate that the sun never sets on people breaking the bread and drinking the cup of the Lord’s Supper. Some will share communion in elaborate cathedrals while others will do it under a thatched roof or in the open air. Some will do it as extended families and others will do it in crowds of thousands. But each will do it in obedience to the Christ they remember and the one who has transformed their lives.
One of my favorite Worldwide Communion hymns is one that was written on the mission field. It sings:
Jesus shall reign whe’er the sun,
Does His successive journeys run,
His kingdom spread from shore to shore,
Till moons shall wax and wane no more.
People and realms of every tongue
Dwell on His love with sweetest song;
And infant voices shall proclaim
Their early blessings on His name.
We hope you will join us in this relay of faith and praise…a bring a friend with you.
