Do you have time and talents to offer but you’re unsure how to get involved? Whether it’s world travel or web development, construction or coordination, the many missions at First Church want to get you engaged! The Villages team is hosting Mission Month every Sunday in June in the common area next to Payne Cottage in between services. Each week, different active missions will have volunteers and information available to help you learn about the many awesome things our church is doing locally and internationally and providing an easy way for you to get engaged. Please stop by and find your passion!
Jesus teaches us that life is found, paradoxically, when we give it away. Generosity and service not only convey God’s love and care for others but also bring the giver into new life as well. In the United Methodist tradition, we understand our calling to new life to be both personal and social. That means that we care for the wellbeing of others, both spiritually and physically. This moves us to serve others in Jesus’ name. We serve at the church in order to provide a spiritual home for as many people as possible. We serve the community in order to help others become fully alive through ministries of both charity and justice.
