Policies and Procedures

- Youth Ministries provides 3 weekly ministries geared towards youth 6th through 12th grade. These weekly ministries are: Wednesday Night Live Youth Worship, Sunday School / Confirmation. Each of these ministries provide either social application, education, or reflection as the vehicle for ministering the Gospel to youth.
- Adults that work with youth on a weekly basis are individuals recognized as “Mentors” and have accepted the duties of such work. They are persons trained to work with youth through the Youth Ministries Office and through resource opportunities provided wholly or in-part through First United Methodist Church Round Rock.
- Youth Ministries reserves the right to refund any deposits, payments or registration fees for any student activity excluding death or illness within the immediate family. Consideration is given if the student or family can secure a participating replacement for a given event, retreat, or activity.
- Students and adults are asked to not bring in any outside beverages or food during any of our weekly ministry activities which includes WNL, Sunday School or Confirmation.
- Students are asked to not bring skates, in-line skates, skateboards, or scooters to the church campus. These are not permitted to be used on-site at anytime as our insurance does not cover accidents or damage caused by the usage of such sporting and recreational equipment.
- Students and families are asked to consider church-appropriate attire while participating in any Youth Ministries sponsored program, event, weekly ministry, or meeting. We view our outwardly appearance as an additional expression of our faith response and in so doing, want to ensure we represent this faith response in the best way possible.
- First United Methodist Church Round Rock is a smoke-free campus. In addition, no illegal drugs, alcohol, tobacco in any form, or weapons are allowed at anytime at any convening or assembly of Youth Ministries program.
- All students participating in any retreat, event, activity or excursion off-campus is required to have a current Medical Release Form and a Covenant of Conduct Form on file.
- Youth Ministries provides ministry and support for families and youth. We are not a certified counseling center although we offer perspectives, ideas, possible solutions, and mediation for families in crises. Youth Ministries will offer recommendations for professional counseling when needed or requested.

- Youth Ministries asks that all student participants in retreats, week-long mission projects, ski trips, and special events that involve travel and lodging of more than 2 days and nights must participate in a at least 3 Youth Ministries sponsored opportunities per month in order to travel. These opportunities can include any or all of our 3 weekly ministry opportunities, special events or gatherings. Failure to participate in at least 3 opportunities per month can result in an in-eligibility to go on the retreat, week-long mission project, ski trip and/or special event as well as forfeiture of any payments or deposits paid. It is not the intent to preclude participation only to ensure the most positive and safest environment possible for all students at all times.
- During any Youth Ministries sanctioned event, worship, program, or meeting participating students are expected to be present throughout said event, worship, program, or meeting. They are not encouraged or allowed to walk to any of our neighboring businesses. Departing from the church premises during any of these engagements will result in parents being notified about the departure.
