We're Shining a Spotlight on Our Volunteers!
Below you'll find the text of the Thank You Notes posted by members to recognize the service of the various volunteers at First Church. We've listed them alphebetically according to the last name of the person recognized. There is a special section for "groups" of people who are being recognized.
The notes are also posted on the Every Member a Minister bulletin board located in Building 5 between Rooms 122 and 124. Check out the THANK YOUs below to see who is spotlighted. See anyone who is missing? Then write them a note! You might even find that someone has recognized YOU!
Susan Nieves
Director of Treble Makers
I appreciate Susan so much because she unselfishly gives of her time on Sunday mornings to direct our youngest choir, the Treble Makers. She is so wonderful with these 3 and 4 year olds, and the spiritual training she is giving them through music will last eternally. Thank you Susan! Dr. Linda Bolding
David Petersen
David has been involved in too many projects to list. Without him, we would be missing not only great expertise and work, but a great man who always does that work with a smile on his face. If you enjoy worshipping on Sundays, you ought to give him a thank you and a hug (he'll deny he deserves credit).
Harlan Ralph
Harlan is a dedicated member of the Greeter team and often is the first to arrive on campus and make sure all of the Greeter materials are in place for when the greeters arrive for service. Thank you Harlan for your dedicated service.
Ned Rasmussen
The choir is blessed with two carpenters! Ned builds racks for robes or whatever else we need. He volunteers hours of time and we appreciate him very much! The Choral Music Dept.
Nancy Reavis
Communion Steward
Nancy keeps us ready for communion each month --- getting bread and juice, setting up the altar, and picking up after services. Thanks! John C.
Janet Reynolds
Church Mouse Coordinator
Year after year she solicits church members to pray for, send cards, letters, and little packages of food, candy, stuff, etc. to our youth heading off to college. Your hard work, a labor of love for sure, has touched so many lives. Kristin graduated from college yesterday. Her church mouse was a large part of her college life and will be remembered for years to come. To Janet, I say thank you for the program and all you do for these kids. As many of them leave home for the first time to attend college they take part of this church with them through this ministry, your gifts, and hard work. In love and appreciation, Patsy Chamberlain.
Ed Roberts
Choir Carpenter
The choirs, especially our librarian, Linda Emry, are very grateful to Ed for building shelves to house our music. Ed also built the stable for our Christmas cantata. And many may not know that he built our Chancel Table and a podium for our Sanctuary. If we have a need, he builds! Thank you, Ed! The Choral Music Dept.
Jennifer Rybaski
Thank you for teaching us about God.---Lauren Tysor
Rich Thompson
Chair of Nuture Leadership Team, Chair of Adult Ministries Council, and Lay Delegate to Annual Conference!
This guy is amazing! Thank you so much for your many hours of service and for the wisdom with which you lead. Also, thank you for the awesome job you do as a Disciples facilitator --- you're always willing to serve wherever you are needed and that is noticed and appreciated!U
Nina Wade
Office Volunteer - Bulletin Stuffer
Miss Nina comes in every Friday and stuffs all the inserts into the Sunday worship guides. She has a quiet and gentle spirit that is always welcome in the church office.
David Wyatt and Josh Peters
Did you know that both our CrossRoads bassists are high-schoolers? You wouldn't guess it by the level of musicianship they offer each and every Sunday. A special thanks goes out to them for putting in so much work, to spite their crazy high-school schedules!
Keitha Wilson and Jennifer Hall
Jennifer has been an awesome coordinator of the Disciples Bible Study program for several years now. She nurtures our leaders, organizes the classes, gets the facilitators trained, and makes sure all the many, many details get done! Keitha joined the Disciples team a couple of years ago and has been so amazing! She is the Registrar and makes sure the registration process and evaluations and surveys get processed just right! She has been such a team player and wonderful facilitator of Christian Believer this year, too! Thank you both for your hard work and loving service!
