At First Church, we believe that Every Member is a Minister. And we encourage you to recognize each other’s ministry and offer words of encouragement to those who are serving the congregation and community with their prayers, presence, gifts and service.
You’ll find postcards on the bulletin board in Building 5 (between Rooms 122 and 124) as well as in the foyer of the Sanctuary. Write a note of thanks to people you have noticed working hard. It is amazing how much words of appreciation mean to people.
Who Ministers to You?
Think of all the volunteers who minister to you and your family. If you or your child participates in Sunday School, Wednesday Night Live, J-Team, Choir, Handbells, or any other small group activity, then more than likely you are being ministered to by a volunteer. If you have been moved by the impact our missions teams have had on the world, then you have been ministered to by a volunteer. If you have called the church, chances are you have been helped by one of our friendly office volunteers. If you enjoy reading the bulletin, then thank a volunteer for copying, folding and preparing them for worship. There are so many ways that we minister to each other. Take a moment and thank those who have served you.
If you don’t know who did something, just write what you are thankful for and we’ll do our best to match it to the correct volunteer. If you do know the name, just write the first and last name on the card and we’ll address it for you and get it in the mail.
