Honoring Dr. Linda Bolding on the Occasion of her Retirement

The Choral and Orchestral Ministries of First United Methodist Church, Round Rock, Texas, will be honoring Dr. Linda Bolding with a reception  at noon on Sunday, October 2, at First United Linda BoldingMethodist Church in the Family Life Center (FLC), 1004 N. Mays in Round Rock.  A commissioned work by Kenney Potter entitled Song of Praise will be sung and dedicated at the 8:30 and 11am  services for her years of loving direction as the Director of Choral and Orchestral Ministries at FUMC.  “Dr. Bolding has taken us to places, both literally and figuratively, where we never thought we could go. Through her, music is a ministry and a witness, and through her, we have been allowed to touch the lives of many.  We are truly indebted to Dr. Bolding for her selfless, loving, and firm but gentle leading.”

During the past 30 years, Dr. Bolding has not only served area schools as principal and choir director but also founded the Round Rock Community Choir in 1985 with a group of community members committed to the advancement of the fine arts in the Round Rock area.  She directed RRCC for 24 years even as she undertook new responsibilities as First United Methodist Church Choral Director in 2004.  To those wishing to express their appreciation, we ask that you contribute a written note or letter that can be placed in a basket at the reception.
