Youth Advisory Committee:
The purpose of the youth advisory committee is to be a sounding board for the student ministry program at First United Methodist Church, and to offer accountability for the student ministry staff and direction of the overall program; keeping us grounded in our mission of helping students cultivate a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Currently serving on the Youth Advisory Committee are: Kim Aleman, Peggy Bixler, Michael Bohmfalk, Diane Bouchard, Melinda Bracamontez, Alan Forster, Jerrine Grey, and Gregg Lee.
These members bring a wealth of working knowledge, insight and passion for youth ministry that allows the program to help enrich our students in their journey of faith. If you would like to offer feedback to our student ministry in general, contact Jodi Marfell.
5th Grade Parent Meeting:
This Sunday at 11am in Room 223 of Building 5 we will have an informational meeting for parents of all 5th grade students.
Forms and Information:
All students that attend off campus events with us such as DNow, Great Day of Service, Mission Trips or Camp Eagle are required to fill out a Med Release Form. The Med Release Form will last one school year as information might change, so each fall you can fill out a new form. If your student is planning to go with us on an upcoming trip and does not have a Med Release they can download one by clicking this link: Medical Release 2017-2018.

For parents interested in volunteering in our program we have attached a form that you can fill out as well. This will allow you to see the areas in which you can volunteer for the coming school year, we would not be allowed to do what we do without the help of our amazing parent volunteers. Confirmation class is open to all 7th-12th grade students. Enrollment runs from August 1 thru November 30 each year. Registration forms are available in the Student Ministry office. Classes begin in mid-January.
Middle School Confirmation (7th & 8th graders) consists of a mandatory retreat, curriculum and field trips. The class fee is $100 by November 30, and $125 after November 30.
High School Confirmation (9th-12th graders) consists of weekly classes, but no retreat or field trips. The class fee is $25.
How can funds offset the cost of student ministry events?
Any student and/or parent can accrue funds through various fundraising events throughout the year (August to August). These opportunities include, but are not limited to, breakfast tacos sales on Sunday mornings, and Ash Wednesday Pancake Supper.
What are the rules for applying accrued funds?
Funds can be used throughout the school year for mission trips, retreats such as DNOW, Lock-Ins, etc.
Contact Jodi Marfell to see what funds are available and to request what events you wish to have those funds applied. Any funds not applied to an event by September 1 will be transferred to the general youth mission fund.
