Middle School

What is Middle School Ministry?

We strive to create an environment where students feel loved, cared about and where they can come and experience Christ. Our goal is to help students cultivate a relationship with Christ, and to equip them to go and make disciples who can make disciples. Through FUSION, Mission Trip, Worship, Study, etc.. we want students to experience the life changing love of Jesus, and through that experience a passion for Him that will change their lives.

Calendar of Events

Weekly Programming

During the school year middle school students can join us for FUSION on Sunday Nights from 6-8pm in the FLC. We offer $3 snack supper of pizza and a soda or water. We have games and fellowship followed by worship which is led by our Youth Praise Band and then they head to small groups. In small groups they will discuss the message given at worship and grow together as a group. It is a fun time and a great way to get connected, we also always encourage students to bring a friend!!

Sunday School:

Change Your Hashtag

In this study our Middle School students will begin a new series called “Change Your Hashtag.” During this series, we will help students discover the hashtags they’ve come to place on themselves and/or that others have placed on them. Then, we will help them remove those labels and replace them with God’s unique hashtag for them.

7th/8th grade students will be led by Kim Aleman and Karen Kupecki in Room 225

6th grade boys will be led by Dan Hunter in Room 220

6th Grade Girls Sunday School Class

We will have a special Sunday School class for our 6th grade girls this year. In this class they will talk about placing God at the center of your worth and how He defines beauty. We want to encourage students to find their worth not in what the world says is important but what God says. We will talk about the everyday issues that come up and equip them to stand strong.

This class will be led by Gretchen Blair and they will meet in Room 222.

Special Programming

Each Spring students who go through Confirmation classes learn about what it means to be a Christian, key Biblical principles and the United Methodist Church.  Through the Confirmation journey, students learn what it means to be responsible for their own faith and ultimately claim their faith as their own.  Confirmation is open to students in 7th and 8th grade. You can download the Confirmation Information Packet and the Highland Lakes Release Form by clicking the following links: Confirmation Registration Packet and Highland Lakes Release Form.
