Be a First Church Greeter

Be a First Church Greeter

Have you been looking for a place to serve, but have trouble finding the time? Do you like making others feel welcome?

Serving as a greeter at First Church is an easy and fun opportunity to be God’s hands and feet.
Did you know it takes about 60 greeters to fulfill all the needs of our church in one month? The role of greeter is simply to stand at the church entrances before and after service and welcome everyone. Join the greeter team by giving about 30 minutes once per month at the service of your choice. Greeting as a family is a great way to serve as well.

There will be a Greeter Training on Monday, May 23, from 7 – 8 pm in Adkins Bldg.-127. Click here to sign up for the greeter training.

We would like to thank all of our current and past greeters for their service and smiles on Sunday mornings. This is such a vital and important ministry. We encourage everyone to give these servant leaders a thank you.

Why be a greeter?

“We have served as FUMC greeters for the last five years. I feel that by being a greeter we serve in a quiet but vital role in our church. Greeting people as they enter our church is more than a handshake and a smile. It is an opportunity to express God’s love through Christ and help everyone feel welcome and significant in our church home.” -Philip and Carolyn Runyan

“Greeting FUMC’s attendees is a privilege that brings me many a smile as our guests approach the doors. I depart the services with joy in my heart for the positive experience of greeting first timers and seasoned attendees.” -Shirley Dillman
